Prolog

"Honey it's ok, please stop crying" Howard tried to comfort his wife. He had been awakened in the middle of the night by her sobs.

"No it's not alright!" Evelyn wailed "All I've ever wanted was a baby and it's becoming less likely as I get older. Why, just tell me why" she pleaded.

Coming over to her, Howard took her into his arms, trying to give her what comfort he could. "You know what the doctors have said, it's just not possible. Maybe if we had tried to adopt sooner and spent less on fertility treatments things would be different"

"Oh now it's my fault" Evenly abruptly pulled away from her husband.

"No that's not what I'm saying. Honey listen to me. Please!" Howard tried to reassure her but Evenly turned and stormed out of the house.

Hoping to calm herself, she walked to a near by park. Evelyn knew she should go home and apologize. Howard was hurting as much as she was over not being able to have children. She just wasn't ready yet to go home.

She was glad it was late. She wouldn't meet any young mothers out with their children. Evelyn usually found the park depressing, watching the children play. It always felt like rubbing salt in an open wound coming here during the day.

It would inevitably remind her of the days when she dreamed of being a mother and bringing her kids to play in the park. All she had ever wanted was to have a child she could raise and teach all the things she had to offer. It broke her heart knowing that this cherished dream wasn't meant to be. How could life be so unfair?

While she walked through the park, strange lights were falling from the sky and enveloped her. She slowly became conscious of her surroundings. She tried not to panic when she realized she was in a strange, alien environment. She seemed to be lying on some kind of examining table and there were strange alien creatures standing over her. She closed her eyes and said a silent prayer.

First alien technician: "This subject appears to be a human female".

Second alien technician: "Affirmative but the reproductive organs are nonfunctioning".

First alien technician: "It would be a simple procedure to repair."

Second alien technician: "I concur. Fix the defect. It will prove to be an interesting experiment to return and observe the offspring this subject produces."

First alien technician: "Based upon the age of the subject the offspring will be few if any".

Second alien technician: "Enhance the conception rate to ensure pregnancy occurs."

First alien technician: "That procedure is still experimental and results in sterility once the subject becomes pregnant."

Second alien technician: "One offspring will be enough to continue the experiment."

Evelyn, meanwhile, had no idea what these creatures were discussing. She just hoped that she would survive and see Howard again. She must have lost consciousness, as the next thing she knew she was waking up in the park. Evelyn picked herself up from the ground, wondering what lasting results would happen after her experience. She felt ok but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was different.

"Evelyn. Evelyn" she heard someone calling her name. She knew it was Howard come to look for her.

"Over here, I'm here" Evelyn called back.

"Honey I was so worried. It was getting so late and you didn't come back. I went looking for you." Howard explained, taking Evelyn's hands in his.

"I just lost track of the time, let's go home" Evelyn said feeling safe and loved.

Looking deep into her eyes Howard queried "You're sure you're alright?" while he picked a leaf from her hair.

"Yes dear, I'm alright, let's go home." Evelyn said deciding not to tell him anything about what she experienced.

  1. Hi, I followed your link from the comment you left me on Echoes of Eternity. :)
I like your take on the alien abduction. Those aliens sure were nice in their thought processes, even though to them it was just an experiment. LOL. :)

  2. Yay for the aliens, what a nice bunch (unless they messed up anything else) making her dream come true. I wonder how this will continue to play out!

    1. Hmm I wouldn't exactly call this bunch of aliens nice. They have an ulterior motive for what they've done. Although at this moment Evelyn is happy with the results - a baby! :)
The aliens will be back to check on their experiment.

  3. It was nice of the aliens to fix her non- functioning reproductive system. lol! Although I have to wonder what's going to come from this. How often will Evelyn and the aliens have contact with each other?

I think Evelyn and Howard are a cute couple. They seem to really care for each other. :)

    1. You would think that was nice of the aliens to do that for her but unfortunately they have an ulterior motive for what they've done. This is the only time Evelyn has any contact with the aliens. Evelyn and Howard have been together for a long time and have always wanted children. With the help of the aliens they finally have that child late in life. However Evelyn never has the opportunity to tell her son about her experience with the aliens.

  4. I really like this so far! My heart ached for Evelyn and Howard, and feel so horrible that she feels like it was her fault. That must be a horrible feeling. :( I love that the aliens are going to help fix her reproductive system, but wonder if its too good to be true! This is Amandralynn from the sims 3 forums btw :)

    1. Evelyn will be happy with the results of her experience. However if she knew what was in store for her child she would have been upset. Yeah the aliens aren't as nice as they appear to be, they do have an ulterior motive.
