Chapter Two

Two Years Later

William finally made the move to Aura Skies to start his career as a chef. Unfortunately the job his father's friend had for him was at the very bottom. It hardly paid the bills but William had enough in the bank to build a small house and to furnish it with affordable, cheap furnishings.

However the first week in his new home he had an unwelcome visitor in the form of a burglar. As he didn't have an alarm system connected to the local police the burglar got away, taking his couch with him. William just stood there and watched the burglar take his stuff. He was petrified with fright and couldn't move or think; otherwise he might have thought to call the police.

After the burglar left, William was unable to sleep. Every sound he heard he thought the burglar was back. So he gave up altogether and decided to read. He went to the bookshelf his father made for him when he was a baby and took out the cook book his mother wrote. He tried to memorize her recipes; although his mind was occupied with the theft he was able to glean some techniques he planned to use someday. He was thankful the thief obviously didn't realize the value of the books in the handmade bookshelf. His mother's books were Williams one true treasure.

Although being extremely tired William still went to work. He knew he had to replace the couch the burglar stole. Otherwise he was going to be sitting on the floor. During his shift, he noticed that several people would come by and just throw junk away in the resturants dumpster.  He wondered if any of those discarded items could be used or fixed up. So he decided after work that he would check it out.

  1. I hope he can find some goodies in the dumpster. o.O Haha. At least maybe a lawn chair or something so he doesn't have to sit on the floor. XD

    1. Sitting on the floor is going to be the least of his worries pretty soon. He definitely needs some interior design help and maybe someone else's junk will help! LOL

    1. Burglars are annoying; especially when the Sim has nothing worth taking.

  3. I think it's sweet that he still has the bookcase that his father made. :) At least the burglar didn't take that!

Dumpster diving! I hope he finds something!

    1. That bookcase would have been handed down to his heir except it was destroyed before that could happen.
Poor William doesn't have much and to have the burglar take what little he did have was almost too much for him to bear. William didn't find dumpster diving to be that much fun nor did he find anything of any use.

  4. I always laugh when I see the sims digging through the dumpster. They just look so cute, and guilty as they look around to make sure nobody is watching! I love that you mentioned the part about the bookcase that his father had made and glad that didn't get stolen!

    1. William would have been devastated if he lost that bookcase and his mothers cookbooks. These are the only things he has of them besides a few old photos. They have great sentimental value to him.
